JONES Root Beer marinated steak skewers

Ahh, summertime! There is nothing quite like the sound of 8am lawnmowers, getting a nice sunburn, and finding a nice swimming hole to relax and sip on an ice cold Jones. But it wouldn't be a true summer without a little old fashioned grilling, and boy o boy, do we have just the recipe for you! JONES Root Beer Marinated Steak Skewers are sure to be a hit at any of your summer get-togethers, and we are going to teach you how to make this easy recipe step-by-step!
What you'll need
- 4-Pack JONES SODA ROOT BEER
- 2 Skirt Steaks (about 1.5lbs)
- 1/4 cup of Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbl Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Tbl Canola Oil
- 4 Cloves of Garlic, gently crushed using the bottom of a JONES bottle
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 2 cups Ketchup
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 pints Vanilla Ice Cream (for floats)
What You'll do
Marinade
Stir together 1/2 bottle JONES SODA ROOT BEER (sip the rest, you deserve it), 1/4 cup Soy Sauce, 2 Tbl Worcestershire sauce, 2 Tbl oil, 4 cloves of garlic, and 1 tsp pepper; transfer to a resealable bag or container. Add skirt steaks and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best results)
Sauce
Prepare suace ahead. Mix together in a saucepan over low heat; 2 bottles JONES SODA ROOT BEER, 2 cups ketchup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, salt & pepper to taste. Simmer to mix then cool.
Cook
Preheat grill to medium-high; grease grates well. Remove steak from marinade and shake off any excess. Grill four minutes per side and let stand 5 minutes; Slice thinly across the grain.
Serve and Enjoy!
Enjoy on skewers & dip, or on corn tortillas. Drop one generous scoop of vanilla ice cream in to a glass and pour over another JONES Soda Root Beer for a perfectly paired float!
